Steam from the rear

Hey,

Looking for some advice here...

I have an '88 4Runner with an EFI V6, 5 spd.

When the engine reaches temperature, an area at the rear, passenger side of the engine emits a steamy cloud. Web research indicates a compromised cooling pipe...still researching this one.

No water in the oil, truck starts and runs fine, no rough idle or sounds during acceleration or deceleration.

What do I look for to trouble shoot?

Where do you live, is it possible that the condensation drain for your AC evap is right above an exhuast pipe. That would explain a little steam with no other problems. There was probably an elbow there, may have fallen off and its draining right out on the exhuast pipe. If that is not it, then I would pressurize (sp) the cooling system and look for any leaks.
