I haven't aired them down that far. I don't do any intense wheeling, just the occasional trip to the snow and a dirt road when I can find one.

You probably already have the same steel wheel as a spare. I know I did. I bought 4 of these Terra Grapplers and then found a used but in good shape random 285 for the spare. Maybe I'll regret that someday, maybe not.

Actually I have never checked what I have as a spare so you may be right. Maybe I will check tonight. I think I may get a non-DuraTrac as a spare for now.

FWIW, I was a my dealer yesterday and saw a new FJ with what I'll call "TE-style" wheels, except they were a muted finish .... sort of a brushed platinum color. I thought they looked really nice.

Here's a better pic of the FJ wheels on a TR4. They're just like the TE's wheels but darker, gun-metal or charcoal color. Got them from a guy who has 2012 FJ.

I just picked up a set of used steel wheels to use for winter. The part number on them is 42611-35400, which matches up for 4Runner spare wheel. What's the difference between these and the FJ Cruiser steelies?

I'd also like to put center caps on them. What will fit? Toyota or generic is fine by me.

I have the tires mounted and all that but before I install the wheels for the winter...do I need to change out the lug nuts to a different style? I'm using part number 42611-35400 -- 4Runner spare wheels.

i wanted for the longest time to go with steelies.. but as i did my research i realized some weren't the correct hub bore or offset and i'd need spacers which i didn't want.. after looking at around at wheels that would fit since i never cared for anything other than the steel wheel (not a spare fj wheel) i had then found the KMC XD Addicts.. correct center bore, doesn't need spacers to clear brakes.. i was sold.. bought them.. and LOVE them.

Okay, so there are a few of you out there at least runnign FJ steelies. I am trying to save money from going the Konig route but am a bit worried the stock wheels are 29 lbs and the ProComp and US Wheels are 40 lbs a piece. Any idea what the FJ ones weigh?

Although you're looking for steelies, if you're concerned about the weight savings, spend the extra money(very reasonable price) and buy the Konig Countersteer wheels from [MENTION=85422]FNWheels[/MENTION]. The Countersteers are one of the lightest wheels out there.

I went the Konig route and kept my steel stock spair. The weight played the biggest factor. I also love the new wheels and tires.

Yeah, I could not bring myself to buy a konig wheel for my spair knowing it would just sit under there and get all messed up. I did not even buy a DuraTrac for the spair, just a nice (but cheaper) 285.
