Steelcraft 3" Bull Bar

I know many folks are not big fans of these, but IMO I think they look real sharp. I went with Steelcraft because the tubes is 3", but also it attaches in 2 different places (for increased stability). I would have preferred to go with a Shockworks, but just too much $$$ at this point.

I also like the lights, but NJ requires the front lic. plate......I'm not sure if I like the look of lights along with the plate.

Can you talk about the installation, did it go on easily and fit good? Did it require any other alteration of stock pieces? Is it a one person job?

I think it looks tougher, but I'm wondering if it negatively affects frontal impacts? Does the bar attach to the frame (front cradle) or to the bumper. I believe the bumper is connected to the frame with impact absorbers (big shocks) so that you can have a small collision (e.g., 2-5 MPH) and the shocks will absorb the impact. If the bull bar is connected to the frame, then it would bypass this feature. Can you describe how and where it mounts on the bottom? The top appears to be on the bumper.

I am also wondering the same thing. I plan on getting this bull bar in the near future (black version though) and being in Jersey, does the license plate need to be relocated? Thanks.

What's the black bar type piece on the bull bar thats right by the license plate? Maybe some sort of parking sensor? Never seen anything like it before!

I wanted to get a Steelcraft and shoot it the same colour as the Sport Tubes. that is on a back burner now.

Here is mine in black so you guys have an idea...I have a 2004 and didn't need any modifications at all.. .I know for the newer models 2006 someone here had to modify the brackets.

I believe Steelcraft corrected their issues with the bar, no modifications were necessary on my 2006. I had mine powdercoated white.

Here's mine. No modifications were needed for my 2006, Just "Plug n Play".

Figured it out, I guess it's the oem sport bar... Too expensive and doesn't seem great quality. Anyone know any similar aftermarket bars that are maybe all-steel? I dig the wider width and look of the oem, but like the price and materials of the steelcraft... Errgghh
