Steering column play

Purchased my 4runner with 80k and ever since I purchased it I have had light play in what feels like the steering column. The only times I notice it is if I am going over bumps or pot holes. Anyone else dealt with this? It just feels like something in the steering isn't tight as it should be. Thanks.

I have the exact same problem and it bugs the hell out of me. Haven't found a fix, over tried tightening all sorts of things. However, I installed a lift yesterday and so far I haven't felt it since then..but it's too early to tell for sure.

I'm getting the 1" daystar installed next month so hopefully I have the same results as you.

I tried that, but unfortunately it didn't help. I also tried tightening the steering slip yoke and that didn't work either.
