Well, here's the story. i replaced my steering pump in march due to a heavy feel and what seemed to be a lack of power assist. It seemed better initially, but now the problem has returned much worse. The 4runner has 130k miles on it. Here is the best description I can muster. Steering wheel straight ahead will be, top of wheel is 12 o'clock. At 12 it feels very heavy, at 1 it has power assist, at 2 it is heavy and at 3 power assist, 4 heavy, and so on. I am thinking ball joints? Steering u joint? Any one else ever deal with similar problems?
