Steering rack bushing torque specs?

I got the bushings from wheelersoffroad.com. Does anyone know what the torque requirements are? thanks

151 ft.lbs. on long horizontal bolt, 123 ft-lbs on the rest. (Ya coulda searched, nyah, nyah, nyah.....) EDIT: Correct 151 to 141 ft-lbs., see below).

Note: 151 ft.-lb. spec is from '99 4Runner FSM. I am not sure what is going on with thread referenced above but my diagram is clearly different.

Note: 151 ft.-lb. spec is from '99 4Runner FSM. I am not sure what is going on with thread referenced above but my diagram is clearly different.

It is from the 02' online FSM.....I'd like to see a scan or picture of yours if you could swing it.

AND, here is the text portion. The metric spec. stays the same, but the English spec is now 141 ft-lbs. I really don't know what is right.

EDIT: 141 ft-lbs is the correct conversion of 190 N-m so I will scratch the 151 ft-lbs.

Huh......wonder why they changed it?......let me see if I have it in the 01' FSM I dl'ed.

They must have changed it, cause the 01' FSM has the exact specs as the 02' one on the writeup......i dunno. Sounds like anywhere in that vicinity would be good.

I agree. I think I actually did mine to 141 and that was pretty efffin' tight. Probably more than it needs. It's also interesting to note the FSM seems to regard the bushings as integral parts of the rack; nowhere is there any mention of their removal or substitution.

I've heard they have no part number....on a side not I rechecked my install after about 800 miles and they were right at 100 ft/lb's still. :thumb3:
