Steering Swap's or Upgrades

I have an 87 4Runner with power steering but it just seems really sloppy and weak. Does anyone have suggestions on how to tighten up he slop or know of swap I could do like from a Tacoma or Ford Ranger possibly??????

Have you rebuilt/replaced the steering relay rod assy?

Have you checked /replaced the TREs?

I bought the truck about 4 months ago and I can tell someone put a new TRE on the passenger side cause it is twisted all the way down and that tire anlges inward pretty steep. It needs an alignment bad but it seems to have about an inch of play either way in the steering wheel. My old Jeep CJ7 had an adjustment screw on top of the steering box to tighten up the slack. Does the 4Runner have the same type? I noticed what looks like the same screw on the steering box but I didn't want to crank on it not knowing what it is.

It's more than likely the steering relay rod being worn out before the box.
