i went into the good guys today and was checking out the ivac-n1 for my 4runner and i asked about a adapter for the steering wheel controls and yes they do make them and they run around $200 for it,

the one I found cost $60, couple of guys here have installed them. Do a search and you'll find it.

I installed the pac swi for my clarion head unit it was very easy and works great check it out here and i got it from buy.com

I couldn't identify the wires needed for the install after a shop did my HU...can you tell me what colors they are and if you deviated from the PAC SWI-X instruction manual at all? Did you have to use those resistors?

the wire has a small connector behind the radio it has 3 wires I followed the directions and yes you have to use 1 diode it was very easy

Do you remember anything about the wires though? When they installed my new HU they cut the connector, so I can't really identify which wire the directions are refering to simply because they don't specifiy which color.

I have to open it up to check I was going to do this any way will be installing a scanner in the unused din will do it tomorrow will get back to you

Ok I have the wire colors

behind the radio you will find 3 wires the first
white with a red line this one you ground
the second one is purple with a white line you attach the supplied diode to this one and then attach the free end to the white wire from the pac unit and the last wire is yellow with a black line this one you connect direct to the white interface wire along with the diode
