Steering Wheel Centering procedure

According to techinfo site, it's pretty easy to center steering wheel by adjusting steering rod lengths. Has anyone done this? My wheel is just bit off center but it's annoing as hell espesially on a freeway. Any suggestions?

Yes, very easy to do. If you need an alignment, the technician will straighten the steering wheel before setting the alignment into specs.

If you feel the alignment is fine, but the steering wheel is just off, you can simple adjust the tie rod ends an equal amount on both sides IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS. It is really important that you turn one side the same number of turns as the other in the opposite direction, or you will screw up your 4Runners toe setting.
 
Thanks, Even. I think all is needed 1 steering degree adjust on each side. I will mark original spot for reference.
 
Resurrecting a dead thread, I'm having some issues and I think my steering wheel just needs to be straightened. I had my rack and pinion replaced about 6 months ago. I've felt like I've needed way too many alignments. However, just today I realized that unless I try to keep the steering wheel centered, my car doesn't actually pull to one side or the other.

I don't get it. I've had multiple alignments done at two different shops, but what is going on here?

Do I really need to just straighten my steering wheel out? I mean, I really just drive with it tilted to about 10 o'clock.
 
I've done mine. Took 30 min in driveway. There is TSB for it. Follow steps, make same ammout of turn on both sides (pay attention to direction) then tighten and you're done. GL

Hey I'm looking for the TSB for the steering wheel center procedure. I saw you said you did it. Do you remember the TSB number for it or still have it? Thanks.

I just got an alignment done and the guys there got it a little better to the center but still not perfect. I want to fine tune it myself...
