steering wheel controls +after market head unit

I want to put an after market head unit in my 06 sport does anyone know if the steering wheel controls will work on it.

Yes but you have to get an interface for it. If your unit comes with a remote then you can use the universal one, PESWIX made my Peripheral Electronics. Ask about the steering wheel interface before you buy. I tried an Alpine 9856 with that and it changed the channel, but it only went from like channel 30 to channel 31 instead of preset to preset.
