Steering Wheel Cracks

I tried searching for this item on here, but couldn't find anything. I was just wondering if anyone else is having problems, or has had problems with the leather wrapped steering wheel cracking or splitting. I currently have some cracks in the leather wheel that are getting wider and larger by the day and I'm very easy going with things, pretty picky. I don't really use anything to keep my steering wheel clean other then going over it with a slightly damp rag whenever it's needed. Should I of been using leather cleaners and conditioners as well? I've never had a steering wheel crack on me like this before.

Any info you'll can supply is great.

I have a steering wheel cover on mine but I don't routinely treat the leather. I just cleaned and conditoned before putting a new cover on and it's the first time I've done anything other than spray windex on a rag and wipe it down. No cracks so far. What year and submodel?

I have a steering wheel cover, too. I clean and condition the leather with Meguiar's every 3 months. So my steering wheel looks like new.

The plastic steering wheels on my trucks are 25-26 yrs old, no cracks at all, no maintainence either. You could probably swap one in
