I just posted in the welcome forum and wanted to drop a picture of my new truck here first.

I just picked up a '00 Runner. I'm attending to a few maintenance items and nursing a thinning wallet before the build starts. I'm gearing more towards long duration trail / camping / expedition work. And it begins...

This was the biggest reason why I picked her up. My last '93 was the death of me. To make a long story short, little money and a few poor choices put me in a bind. For a couple of years I've done nothing but repair broken and dying cars to keep them running. This girl purrs like a kitten and needs very little work. I'm looking forward to lots of upgrading and taking a break on non-stop repairs. :-)
 
I know how you feel. I just picked up my truck a couple of weeks ago and I've already spend about $500 in parts and little upgrades for it. I've got $4k in mods on my list already that I wish I could afford to get. :)
 
Welcome to T4R...this forum is a great source of info for completeing mods. There's a lot of clever guys out there that come up with the coolest ideas.

You have a sweet looking ride to start with...you guys down south suck...lol!! Rust free and beautiful paint 13 years and counting...I'm jealous!!

Your new T4R will quickly become your new addiction! Enjoy my friend...

I was a die hard GM guy until I went against Pops and bought a Toyota. I just laugh as my dad continues to B!tch while working on electrical issues and premature wearouts.
 
I appreciate the warm welcomes and compliments. I can't wait to get started on her. First up on my shopping list is a elocker. I have come up empty handed so far but I haven't searched a whole lot yet.

A side note, I worked all weekend to get my shed cleaned out. Years of different car projects and fixes have left me with a mountain of parts and garbage. I filled a trash can, made another pile to send to GoodWill and now I can get to all of my tools! I'm also trying to find a Oxy/Acetylene rig but I think I'm going to break down a buy a new one.

I used to be a die hard GM fan as well. I had a '95 Monte Carlo and got tired of having something break every week and having to devote my weekend to fixing things. It was always something... window motors, blower motors, A/C, rusted heater core that leaked all over my passenger side floor board, a random sensor, transmission failure (while under warranty), lower intake manifold gasket failure (twice)... It just never ended. Took the Monte Carlo to the metal salvage yard with 130k miles on the clock. Picked up the 4Runner with over 200k miles and it's not given me near the trouble as the GM cars I've had.
