Stereo Issues in my '05

My 2005 4runner is having issues with the stereo cutting in and out. I think it may be a short somewhere but I'm not sure how to tell. When the stereo cuts out everything is still functional except the audio and volume button on the wheel and head unit. I've noticed it sometimes cuts out if I hit a small bump in the road, but not all the time. I have an amp, which runs to my factory speakers, and a sub installed. I work out of my car so I have to use a small (inexpensive) power conervter to power my laptop throughout the day. Does anyone have any suggestion? Any input is greatle appreciated.

I forgot to metion that one time when I was listening to music and flashed my lights it cut out. It happened several times when I tunred the volume up with the steering wheel button too.

You may be drawing too much amperage because of all of the things you have in.

The inverters draw alot of power...

Also, is it the factory HU?

If so, a short could be found by a dealer, or even a local car-audio shop.

The short, if any, would most likley come from wherever the signal converter for the amplifers RCA's is.
