Stereo opening: True "double DIN?"

Just wondering if the stereo opening for the 3rd gens is a true "double din" size. Reason I ask is because on my old Ford Ranger the stereo appeared to be a double DIN but was actually something like a 1.8 DIN size.

Looking to put a new stereo in and I had my eye on this one:

Thing I like about it is that it seems to have everything I want: AM/FM/Sat, and an input for my MP3 player, and weather (WX) band, which I really like (my Subaru had a WX band on the radio and it came in handy many times.

Would even be more interested to know if anyone has direct experience with this unit.

from wat i can tell it is a full size double din... if u look, there are several guys on here and YT with 7" double din screens and those typically are the full sized ones. If it isnt u could always just file the opening a bit to make it fit

Yes it is, I installed a Pioneer Double Din Nav in the factory slot, using the factory brackets.

Yes its a is a true "double din" size, but not familiar with your Panasonic-CQ-5800U-Weather-Receiver-Satellite. I did however install a Motevo gtx-1 7'' touch screen 5 in 1

am fixin to upgrade my stereo system and looks like my Surf has a triple din!!!
