Stereo / party mode

It's to bad that the rear speakers (back doors) kick off when you turn that amp on . I just thought it was stupid when I was showing someone . I really never use the party mode at all , so no matter I guess but if sound came from the rear speakers as in normal mode I might be more inclined to.

I agree, it's probably the dumbest "feature" IMO. I would much rather take that switch out and replace it with an overhead light switch(would someone figure this out, already?)

think Ryan's just saying that Party Mode only changes the speaker balance; pushes more sound to the liftgate. there's no additional amp that's activated.

Yup.

The rear door and rear lift gate speakers both run off the rear channel. When you hit party mode it just turns off the rear door speakers and changes the EQ in the HU slightly.

I agree though that party mode is about 99.9% gimmick.

I for one love that my car has a button that says "party mode", cause hey, I like to party....
The party only gets started once someone hooks up that button to a NOS bottle :AK47:

I agree that I much rather use the spot for a compressor/aux light position.

Okki

Does it get louder in party mode because there are two less speakers drawing power (rear doors)? To me, it sounds better in party mode. It's almost as though you could replace the dash, front door and lift gate speakers and just leave it in party mode.

Unless mine is different, hitting party mode just turns off back doors...all 6 others are still powered.

I disagree . There has to be something that boosts the sounds some how. I have so much crap in the back of my truck that the speakers are blocked, but yet the sound it much more powerful. Just wondered how it worked really is all. I never really use it at all because I need the sound from the rear doors.

I am not a audio guy by any means so I have no idea about this stuff. I am perfectly happy with how the stereo sounds . Good enough for me and a lot better sounding than my 4th gen.

Well as an audiophile, I can tell you that there is no secret amp that turns on. There is one amp that powers all 8 or 15 speakers in the truck. When party mode engages it just sends the power around differently.

+12345. There is one wire going to the HU though, I'm 99.999999% sure that this is changing the EQ and bringing out the highs and lows a bit more, so you know... it sounds like a party.

Ok , I trust you guys . Anyways with the back speakers (doors still worked when engaged) . No biggie and thanks for educating me .

Just go to the HU and change the fader and eq characteristics. You can make "party mode" and "non party mode" sound exactly the same if you want to. The button is just a quick way to change a few settings.
