Stereo Upgrade

I just purchased a 2005 4runner Sport. I am wondering if I can upgrade the stereo to a 2007 stock stereo with MP3? I have called a local dealer and they said

Your best bet would be to get one of the Scion head units, which are drop-in replacements for the base factory head units and are much more powerful and versatile. Search on ebay. There are several models, out there. The simplest ones go for around $50 and the most advanced ones (Ipod control, multiple color backlights) go for over $200.

Nope, I don't think it will work. Do a search, I'm pretty sure info on upgrading the JBL system has been discussed thorougly.
