Stereo wiring harness 01 Runner

I have an aftermarket radio I am trying to install, I got the wiring adapter that plugs into the OEM but it doesn't fit the plug that I unplugged from the OEM radio. I looked everywhere I can think of even online they all seem to carry the same plugs, 2 plugs in a box. anyone did the aftermarket radio install and what they used or where did you find the adaptor, if not I'll have to hand wire it which i don't want to do..

any help with this appreciated...

There is a silver box in the dash below where you pulled the radio out. There are 2 plugs going into the bottom of that box. Unplug them and plug the harness you bought should fit those plugs.

Silver box mentioned is the OEM amplifier required by your OEM radio. Remove it and use the wires into it. If you sell off your old OEM radio it won"t work without that amplifier.
