Stickers - Window vs. Body?

Sorry for the noob question, but I've never put stickers on a vehicle. Are there any pros/cons to consider when putting stickers on a side (back panel) window versus the side of the body (other than the obvious obscured view of the window)?

Well, if the sticker is on there long enough, you may get some color change on the spot that's covered.

Yep, I def would not put stickers on the body. Window would be the best way to go.

If doing sticker's, i would say windows is a better choice.

Also in the "no sticker" club, but if I had to, it would go on a window.

On a windows you can remove it with much more aggressive tools like a razor scraper and or chemicals that would otherwise destroy your paint.

3M used to make a great tar remover that worked wonders on stickers, but of course they discontinued that. I'm never selling this vehicle. If there's discoloration on the couple of small decals I have, I'll replace them & cover over the spot...

Sometimes you have to have stickers...inspection, parking, etc.

When I first got my 4runner back in Cali...I lived in an apartment and had to have a parking sticker...assigned parking spaces.

At that time, I was an...er, butt tight about not putting any sticker on my new truck anywhere.

So, what I did...I went to the local craft store and bought a package of blank reusable static cling vinyl sticker sheets. I stuck the sticker on the vinyl and then put the vinyl 'sticker' on my window. After I moved from the apartment...easily removed.

Just remember to make the sticker so that it goes on the inside of the vehicle...not outside...to easy to steal (or get washed off if you forget)

My 80 is a rolling billboard for the parts on the truck and event stickers as a record of where its been but only on the 2 back side windows.
My 4 runner I think I’m going to keep clean except for the GCLC sticker in the back window.
I’d never do a sticker on the paint and cringe when I see people doing it. At least on glass if you change your mind you can get it off cleanly, sometimes with paint that may not happen.

Always on glass. Easier to remove + no chance of paint color changes or damaging the paint finish trying to get a decal off.

I do windows, but my buddy did his tail gate and I have seen some others do under the hood.

I put mine on the rear-most driver's side window and one on the upper right corner of the rear window.

I looked at a '00 Sport that's hood paint was destroyed by stickers. It had letters and wording on it, the stickers were gone, but the outlines remained.

Definitely window. I'm having to remove a decal from the body that a PO adhered - not fun, plus it's emblazened into the paint.

I would always recommend the glass. It will be a much better clean up down the road.

the only sticker I have on my 4Runner, is my dump sticker, and it's on the glass.

I usually sticker rigs in moderation, used to never put em on, but its grown on me lately if done right On the glass if the rig has nice paint, otherwise put em where they look cool lol
