Sticky A Pillars?

Anyone else have or seen the sticky A pillars? Like dashboards in late 2008ish Camry models?

My A pillars feel gross. That sticky, tacky feeling. Never noticed till about 10mins ago (however it took me to search here). B and C feel like...plastic. Dry. But the A pillars feel like a poorly cleaned table that had soda spilled on it.

Nope, kinda hard to help, no year model, bought new / used?
Someone sprayed soda on both....?

Help us out here with something to go on.

Assumed all 5th gens likely used the same plastics.

2015 TEP, bought new, 11 mos old, nothing spilled/ sprayed. Grey in color.

In the 6 years of owning 5th gen 4Runners I have yet to touch the "A" pillar plastic. #shelteredlife
I was just wiping a bug off my dash. Why don't you go touch them real quick and report back?

AND THEN we can discuss the effect of direct sunlight on those and you can calculate how hot those get compared to B and C pillars (which I do touch regularly...relatively...whenever I'm wiping down the interior).

One other fellow, also a 15, has mentioned that his are sticky, as well.

Gonna make Toyota buy my 4Runner back.

Just kidding. I am, however, gonna go by and get them checked out. Still curious if there are others.

It's no wonder Service Managers are such a$$holes when they have to deal with this kind of stuff.

Seriously.

I'm wondering if there was a bad batch that was made and the chemical composition has changed, making them sticky.
Anything is possible, I guess.

My 14 is exactly two years old and I noticed the stickiness a few months ago. I'm guessing it won't be as bad when the weather gets colder.

Just went out and checked mine:
Very smooth, dry, clean feeling. The grab handle on the wifes side is is a bit tacky though. She has to use it to get in and out and she uses hand lotion. If she ever complains I guess I'll wipe it with some windex.

So I touched my pillars today, I would say minor stickyness. Noticeably more then the rest of the interior trim and feels like hard textured plastic but not to the point where it feels like someone spilled a Coke on it.

Meh, they are not collecting dirt any more then anything else so no worries now

Plastic strip along rubber door jamb seal is sticky on my 2013. It is annoying but not critical to me.

Could this be a reaction to a cleaning / plastic treatment agent used by some? 2013 SR5 - no sticky.
