Stiff gas pedal fix?

Hi, I have an 86 4Runner, the gas pedal doesn't stick, but is very hard to push down and accelerate. I have heard there may be a lot of gunk inside the throttle cable, but I'm not too sure how to get it out. The mechanics on the throttle body, and on the pedal itself are fine, lubricating them hasn't solved the problem.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Buy a new one. I don't think that could cost much.

50 bucks from the parts store, you're probably right.

go to a motocross shop and get cable lube and separate the plastic casing and spray it until it comes out of bottom and then work it in! like 8 bucks a can!
