STOCK 3rd gens without running boards. Care to share pics?

I saw one same color jusgroovin saturday by the hospital here!! Crazy! It's really nice and slick though.

Well I never really paid detailed attention to that lower door moulding . DOH !! I was surprised just now as I was crawling out from under my truck that the moulding on the rear door is part of the wheel flare :wtf:
No wonder no one with the LTD's removes those pieces . I need to pay more attention to the body than the mechanics :lmao:

The LTD's w/o running boards remind me of a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I had mine for over a year before I took them off. So glad I did! I think they look much better without them.

I had the same problem with a few of mine so I had a shop take them off while they had it doing some other work. They even thanked me for getting rid of them! :thumb3:

Here is my newly acquired 3rd gen. Running boards pulled as soon as I got it home. I like it much better. Color is Desert Dune. 4x4 108k Miles 4x4. No mods really yet. I personally like the door cladding of the limiteds without running boards.

I'm not too sure it is an improvement. With the boards off the frame/undercarriage is exposed. That does not look so nice.

my 96 Limited 4x4 w/e-locker. Its been a 1.5 years since i picked up my runner. Took of the side step in the first month and all the mods started to go outta of control. Still in the developmental phase

Mine never had 'em and yes,you can see some undercarriage but from inside the truck I can't see it and off road prowess is what's important to me than my junk showing.:
