Stock catalytic converter scrap value

Anyone know off the top of their head the scrap value for the two stock cats? Replacing them both and would like to get cash for the old ones if possible.

Not sure about the legality of selling them, but I sold one awhile back and got $35 bones off a Craigslist scrapper. Probably worth a lot more but I was tired of it collecting dust in my garage.

I called a local scrap company and they do buy them, and of course I have receipts for the new ones to show they are not stolen. They said they dont give quotes over the phone. I just wanted an idea of the value before I went so I know it's at least a fair offer.

depending on what the codes are on the cats determines their value...here is a site that will tell you exactly what you got and their value...

I saw that site and I haven't pulled the exhaust yet to check but probably a good reference.

I might just leave the whole exhaust together and sell it complete with o2 sensors for $150 or something. Wouldn't take much to seal up the leaks for someone who is a little worse off. MN is hard on underbody stuff.

I have used Recycle Catalytic Converters with the ConverterGuy a bunch of times. Good guy to deal with. You can send him a picture of the cats through his website and he will respond through email with a price. Then just send them in and he mails out a check pretty quick.

Another option is Auto Core Buyers LLC: Best Payout when Buying Scrap Catalytic Converters I have used them as well. With them you can text them a pic and they will respond with a price. They can also send payment through paypal once the cats are received.

Iv'e never had an issue with either company.
