Stock H/U and Subs

I'm not a big electronics person and don't know much about Audio Equipment and such. I have a box with 2 Eclipse Titanium 12'' Subs and an Arc Audio 3,000 Watt Amp. I own a 03 Sport with the JBL Speakers and 6 Disc CD Changer. Can I hook the subs and stuff up to the Stock H/U?? Will it work at all? I like having the 6 Disc Changer and really don't want to buy another H/U if I don't have to. Plus it's less likely to get stolen if thieves just think I have a stock stereo since the subs will be hidden. Thanks for any help.

I really suggest you get a aftermarket HU unit so the installation will be breeze. Otherwise you have to split wires to draw out signals to the subs and it's so much headache vs. just plugging in the RCA jack to the back of aftermarket HU.

That's what I was afraid you guys would say :p Damnit I would just rather keep the stock H/U lol. I've spent so much money on upgrading and moding cars and trucks over the years I'd rather just leave this as stock as possible. The only reason I want to put the subs and Amp in is because they are just sitting in my garage collecting dust and I already have them. I've even got all the wiring to be able to hook it up.

Do you have the 10 speaker or 6 speaker system?

With the Synthesis 10 speaker system, you already have a summed and filtered sub out, albeit at speaker level, sitting right next to the rear mounted sub. I would think it easier and cheaper to tap into this output and feed your leftover subs than installing a HU and routing RCAs to the back for the new subs.

And if it's the 10 speaker (maybe with the 6 speaker as well), unless you're going with the Metra? kit, you'll have to run speaker wire from the HU to all speakers. The stock HU just sends digital signal to the rear mounted amp, which then does the DAC, processing, and amplification.
