Stock Panasonic Battery mess up

Sooo I messed up. Me in my infinite wisdom took a close look at the stock battery and decided, "Hey the water level looks low, lets put some more in!" got distilled water yada yada, unscrewed the little clear viewing window port and with my flashlight on the side of the battery proceeded to fill up the battery with more water… Well about a pint in I'm wondering why I don't see the level raising… About that time it starts overflowing… I have a syringe that I was able to draw the water out to the correct level. But question:
1. Did I Efff the battery?
2. Is all the water/acid that came out going to eat through my 4runners body/frame? (I did rinse off where the acid was somewhat with the remaining gallon of distilled water.) But should I be more thorough, like pull the battery and tray and wash everything under off?

Battery should be fine. Any battery acid that came out - just dilute with water or get some baking soda and piur it on and rincce down with water.

I suggest putting the battery on a low amp trickle charger, now that you have diluted the acid with fresh water. it will help to charge it correctly.

agreed. clean it off good. rinse it with baking soda, or some cola, and lots of fresh water.

Cola is acidic, so it won't help, and although it's not very strong, it's bad to mix chemicals if you don't know what will happen. Plus, no one wants gross sticky stuff in the engine bay. At least make sure it's diet.

Alright, so far she is sitting steady @ 12.5v when off. 14+ when running. removed battery+tray, and poured/ wiped everything down with a baking soda/water mix.
Thanks for the help guys! Even with my best efforts to destroy it, this stock battery is still holding on.

My advice to everyone leave the OEM battery alone,and when it fails get the WalMart battery.
Great warranty no getting the not covered or out of warranty stuff, and WalMart is everywhere.
