I have a 05 sr5 v8 and the cd player is acting weird lately.. I hooked up a sub recently (but the problem was still there before and after this) I use cd's rather than ipod because of my preference and whenever a cd is playing youll hear a tick tick tick tick..ect throughout every cd and every song. The sound is coming out of the speakers though not the actual cd player, the radio does not do this and cd's are not scratched. Also randomly some cd's appear blank even though they have songs on them and have been played in other cars? Should i juts get a new system put in? If so what kind!! Thanks in advance!

How fast is the tick? A rapid tick would probably be the CD player itself. A slower tick might be an external noise from an improper ground.

Whatever kind of new system to get is purely up to you and your budget. Kenwood excelons seem to be the best for sound quality nowadays, but it seems Sony it sure giving a hell of a bang for your buck in features. Its hard for me to say this because I've always been a Pioneer fan :)

I put the Kenwood K995 in my 4Runner and my wifes FJ. Had the same radio in my Nissan Frontier too. It is a great unit. Hooked up to an amp and BAM.

If you want to replace your OEM radio with another OEM I have mine out of my 2003. You can have it for $75 shipped to US location. I cant seem to load pics but it is the JBL RDS 6 disk player with cassette.
