Stock step pad upgrade?

I have an 07 sport edition 2wd with the nerf bars. The stock plastic step inserts provide absolutely 0 grip when wet. Are there any replacement step pads out there that provide more grip? Some thing that screws right in to the stock location? Thanks.

They're more shin catchers to me than actually useful so I always step over them and into the cab directly.

They do help in the winter to bang off snow, sand, and salt off my boots tho.

Initially I was using the steps then I began stepping directly in to the cab but I do like using the steps. I think of it more as a safety issue for passengers and myself when in a hurry.

You actually gave me this idea , bought a can of rustoelum linex spray & just removed the step cover itself ! Sprayed this part , now that I've done it I might do the undercoat rubberized stuff !
