stock tint %?

I believe its 20% I got my front windows tinted to match and they put on 20% and it looked identical until i put limo on the back :D
 
okay... I've asked every tint shop in my area if they sell 20% and everyone only carries 15%... is there much of a difference between the two?

I'm gonna guess about 5% ;)

But technically if you look at it as a statistics problem, 20% lets about 1/3 more light through it than 15%. 1/3 is substantial, we all know how nice it is to see a sale with 1/3 off.

But I am no tint expert, maybe the numbers don't really reflect this in reality. I'd just try and figure it out before you get it done, a car might look goofy with really dark windows in front and lighter in back
 
also, can anyone help figure out this picture uploading deal? It keeps telling me my picture is too big or something.:confused:

Would you mind posting a picture of your set up? I am getting my rear windows tinted, and I cant decide whether to get 5 or 15%.
 
My front windows are 20% but they definitely look darker than that with all of the other windows limo tint (5% is limo).

As far as uploading pictures, I upload all of mine to photobucket.com and then link the picture with html, because when you upload it to photobucket it shrinks the file size but you can still control the picture size :D
 
that's a bad ride you got... did you put a leveling kit or lift on it and do you have any trouble with cops with that tint?

5% is just too dark. Ghetto dark. Had it on one of my cars. Couldn't even see out at night. IMO, 20-35% is the perfect balance between looks and function.

Thanks! Yeah I have a CF 2inch front 1 inch rear on it ( 2/1 ) and bigger tires.

No problem with cops yet, surprisingly actually hahaha. But i know around here at least if you have 5% on the front you will get a ticket.
 
I'm thinking about puttin a leveling kit on mine.. don't know how it would look with the Enkeis and thin tires though...

P nut- It seems to be hard to find 20% around where i live everyone seems to sell 15%. Can anyone tell me how this matches up to the stock?
 
i'll be sure to... I live in Southeast alabama bordering florida and georgia... do you have any idea how the 15% matches up?
 
interesting enough... i just called the place where i got my 35% put on where they told me they didn't sell 20% only 15% and when i just talked to them they said they did?
 
Yeah i really cant see out my back or side windows at night if there arent lights, but its fine if there is a car with headlights on :D

As far as not carrying tint, that seems kind of strange. I used a guy who came out to the house and just had rolls of every shade of tint. Might be a chain? Look up Sun touch window tinting.
 
This is a better picture of the tint too. 20% in front and factory on all the rear. pretty good match I think. Stock tires with the CF 2/1 lift.
