Stock Tires?

Did everyone get the Dunlops from the factory? I got Michelin X-Terrains but from reading through the forums it seems like the Dunlops were the tires everyone got.

Bridgestone H/Ts (17) on my '03 SR5. From what I saw on the lot, they all had Bridgestones. Maybe a Northeast thing.

Now I think OEM tires may be a combination of region, year, and trim level. Most likely the main factor is current tire prices and the base price for each trim level.

Quite honestly I don't think they put that much thought into it. I think it's more a matter of what tires the factory bought and has in stock on the line. Also if there is more than one plant or line making the vehicles that would be another reason for a difference. Line A has Bridgestones while line B has the Michelins.

As I remember it, the 17" alloys were part of a 'port' installed option package. And I think I remember the salesman referring to the combination of options in the package that came on most of the SR5s on the lot as the 'Northeast' package. Maybe just 'sales' BS, maybe not??? All I know is I haven't had any reason to question the bridgestones, they are great.

I got the P265/70R16 Bridgestone Dueler H/T 840's with my 4Runner. I was on the lot today and noticed that all of the 4Runenrs had the Dunlop Grandtrek tires on them and all the GX470's had Michelin Cross-Terrains on them.
