storage compartment door removal

has anyone removed and replaced this door above the cupholders on 03 and older models? i tried but didnt want to break the tabs-do you just squeeze and pray?

If I am not mistaken if you pull straight up with the door leaned open you should be able to remove it without breaking it. If you do a search there is a breakdown on how to remove the dash to install a stereo and I'm sure that door removal is part of the breakdown.

Yup that's correct. Just open the door and kind of tug upwards on it and it'll come right out.

Out of curiosity, why do you need it replaced?

Just be gentle when you pull up -- the tabs are a little fragile.

Sharp4runr, I had to have the door replaced under warranty when the tabs broke. I suspect it was caused by the number of times it was removed while the dealership chased dash rattles. They replaced it without question, though.
