Storing a fishing rod

Any suggestions on storing a fishing rod in the 4Runner? Thought about using velcro to attach to ceiling but not sure if that would attract a break-in.....

take the reel off and put the rods in a tube... they have adjustable length tubes for that kinda stuff.

I know exactly what you mean, I have broken two rods in my 4runner already...

here is a rod holder that I made a few months ago. Work pretty good for holding three rods.

I still have to paint it so that it wont stick out so bad.

That is pretty nice, PSU. Not sure I want something that permanent. Do you worry about theft? Can't decide if I should just break it down and store it in the back....

NO, i never really worried about theft. If my rods are in my vehicle, it is locked.

Locked or not if the scumbags can see it and they want it they will steal it! Locks tend to only keep honest people honest that's just the sad truth.
A ceiling rack is least visible you should check Cabelas,Bass Pro Shop, Wess marine catalogs ect

That's what I use. It sucked so I modified it a little. Works great now

will velcro stick to the ceiling of the 4runner? If so, I may just try a couple of velcro straps to hold one rod, this way its not permanent and it's cheap.

True. I have that exact hanging rod. I don't think I have anything in the back to hang it on though, only in the back seats.....

Nope. I've got the handles where the seats are but not in the back.

I ran a black rubber truckers bungee from across the handles by the rear seats and then another bungee all the way in the back from under the trim by the ceiling liner. The metal hooks fit in there.
