StormRunner Build & Adventure Thread

Is your rig lifted? Even stock height I am thinking you probably would not be able to fit in a standard garage with any rack and a RTT.

Not lifted yet, but I will keep it legal here and lift only 2.5 inches maximum. I should then think about a way to put it on top outside.

Headed out yesterday to see some of those fall colors

After looking through your build and you having the trail wheels re-powder coated has convinced me to get a set and powder coat them :thumb3:

This may be one of my favorite threads on any sight I've been on.

Awesome pics...where do I even begin taking pics like that?

Makes me want to get out...right now

I have been SUPER busy working lots of hours with a huge project at work. Leaves little time to adventure but does create extra funds for upgrades so it's a trade-off.

First thing is I wanted to see if I liked black fender flares so I dipped them to get a feel. If I decide I want it permanent I will either have them painted or vinyled

Next I finally got the TRD Grille upgrade that I have wanted to do forever. Such a huge difference in the look of the front end. Big money upgrade for the parts you get but totally worth the look

Next I got in on the group buy for the TredPro's. Got two sets so I am ready for anything! Now I just gotta weld up some mounting brackets so I can secure these to the roof rack

And the overall new look

Headed out to the Cinders OHV area this evening to enjoy a campfire with some friends. Had to grab a few shots of the truck and stars while we were out:

your photos are amazing!

I have been working so much overtime lately that I decided to take a break and head to Sedona. I did some hiking and some wheeling and some night photography for a fun day

New look front end look. Got my group buy RCI skids installed and also got my grille lights installed.

I don't have my grille lights wired in yet as I think I want them controlled from their own switch rather than controlling with the headlights.

And another from Soldiers Pass. There is a petition to get Soldiers Pass closed to vehicles so I figured I better run it again just in case it gets closed down.

I really love these RCI skids. The weight for aluminum is minimal and they look amazing and they seem to be really well built for protection. Hopefully I won't put them to the test too soon

The grill lights look really clean! Got any part numbers or close-up shots to show how they went in? I am trying to avoid doing this mod and having it look like an after-thought. I want to make it look like it was always supposed to be there.

...like yours. :D

Sedona is definitely an awesome place to explore. Whether you want to hike or bike or four-wheel there is lots to see.

Thanks! I bought mine through Amazon. I am actually still working on finding a permanent mounting for them. Once I get it figured out I will definitely post some pictures on this thread here.

I can tell you that most people just zip tie them to the outside of the grille as they will not fit in the grille slots in their stock form. I didn't like that so I trimmed the plastic down so they would slide into those slots from the backside. They are still zip-tied for now but I have a couple ideas to do something more permanent and clean.

Also most people just tap into their headlight or parking lights for power but I don't like that so I plan to install a switch just for them. Hopefully I will get that all done over the holidays and can post up pics on the install.

Not that you're asking for opinions (unless you are), but I vote don't paint the skids. I agree that they look really good as is...

Agreed. I left my RCI aluminum raw as it looks good already and will "weather" better than paint that would get immediately trashed.

I just ordered these skids through the "thanksgiving" promo code. I'm thinking about fluid filming them yearly for corrosion prevention here since they salt the roads
