Yes. The autopart stores also sell a can of red spray that coats ad protects the terminals. Makes a bit of a mess to cover areas you don't want red. They also sell little felt rings that help keep corrosion at bay. Of course you can make your own.Another trick I learned from my grandfather many many moons ago....
Either petroleum jelly with baking soda mixed in or axle grease covering all parts of the terminals will prevent corrosion once it has all been cleaned off!

I've used those felt rings and spray on every new car and replacement battery in the last 20 years and have yet to see corrosion.
