Strange front end pulley or belt noise.

So I bought my first yota a couple weeks ago and noticed that it has a strange grinding noise from the from drive belts/pulleys. It's not there when I first fire the engine up. But when it gets warmed up it's pretty loud. I just replaced the drove belts and idler pulley last night in Hope's to fix it and it's still doing it. Any ideas on what I should try would be appreciated!

Any information about when the timing belt/bearings/water pump replaced? What parts used? If not, I suspect it could come from one of those. It could also be from the fan bracket that fan is mounted. Remove all the drive belts and start and see whether the sound persists or not.

I think I too should do this in the near future as I am also hearing a bearing sound.

Timing belt and all that was done at 182k vehicle is now at 212k the previous owner said it's always done it since hes owned it. I'm gonna take off all the belts again tonight and try everything.

you say timing belt was done but don't mention the pulleys, idler or waterpump. Some say that they should be done on every 2nd or third belt swap.
Mine is on the third belt, no records of any of those items being replaced, even though the work was done at dealers ( by po) so when I did mine at roughly 180k, I replaced every movable part related, including the a/c idler pulley, which is often not done with timing belts and not included in kits. Also did the cam and crank seals.

One noise that got me a while back was the bearing system I call false waterpump. it is what the fan clutch mounts too. I had a noise I could not isolate. At first I thought it was my alternator, the false waterpump was my issue. YOu have to replace the entire unit, cant do just the bearing, I went ASIAN on that. Did at approx. 190k , supposedly they last a lot longer.

side note: most belts last longer, 3rd belt at 180k.(?)...po had the dealer replace at about 90k, they must have messed up because same dealer replaced again with valve cover gaskets at 101k...sited oil contamination of belt....according to the service records I was able to pull after buying it myself. I then replaced it at 180k with all moving parts, mostly as preventative and also no record of h2o pump etc being swapped and I was dong lots of long distance and off road stuff and did not want a failure in the middle of no place.

Try removing one belt at a time to isolate your problem. A mechanic's stethoscope can be very helpful for this type of work. Harbor freight should have them for a couple bucks

No it doesnt get worse with the ac on.

Took the belts off one by one. Looks like it's my a/c pulley. Not my idler pulley!

Yes, you can replace the compressor bearing without removing the compressor from the engine.
