strange happenings???

Yesterday my wife used the 4runner and the rear defroster and rear wiper where not working, so this morning I tried them and sure enough nothing. Later that afternoon I get in the car again and everythings back to normal??? Any clues what could be up???

I know they won't work if the lift gate window is down ,even down a smidge that you can't see.Open and close it next time to see if that works or there could be a problem with the switch.

True story lol I drove my old 4runner the whole winter wondering why it wouldn't work sure enough window was down just a tiny bit

This happened to me. I just about got really angry haha (till i figured out the rear window was not rolled up all the way) considering the truck was a week old.

I think this has happened to multiple people, check that back window!

this happened to me for about a week. It had been raining, but I had used the rear gate (maybe not fully closed?). Pulled the fuses, all look fine. Was going to go to dealer, and started working? Hope it is just the rear door

It's definitely the window. My wiper wasn't working the other day and I pulled up on the window switch and heard a small noise come from the back. Tried the wiper again and it worked. I guess the window down sensor is very sensitive ...

I had the rear wiper on intermittent coming back from the mountains the other day when my puppy let loose with the most vile fart of his young life. I pushed the switch for the back window and held it down and was surprised to see the rear wiper go up before the window went down, and as soon as I rolled it back up again, the wiper resumed it's intermittent setting.
