Strange noise when turning left.

New 4Runner with 2000 miles on it. Starting on Saturday I am hearing a sound that most closely resembles coffee when brewing from a drip type coffee maker, though the sound I am hearing is a bit higher pitched than coffee. It comes from the left front wheel only when I turn left.
I'm thinking its a shot cv, but does that make sense given there are only 2k miles on the rig?
Sound is reproducible every left hand turn and 2wd or 4wd has no impact.
It is notable that it's pretty cold around now too. Since its been happening it's been anywhere from 30 above to 20 below.
Ideas anyone? I am calling the dealer later today, but was wondering what the collective may think.

Look underneath to make sure there's not a small limb, branch, chunk of ice, or trash in or around the front axles or underneath. Also check to make sure your front mud flaps are still tight against the body and are not rubbing against tire when you turn.

Thanks for the response, but I should have mentioned that I have already done that. My first thought was built up ice being rubbed by the tire. No dice. It is all clear under there and nothing is hitting or rubbing anything.
All mud flaps have been removed also.

If you've only got 2000 miles on it and it's easily reproducible why not have it checked out by Toyota? Good chance it'll fall under warranty if something is wrong.

I am. It's going in on Monday evening to get looked at. Just curious if anyone here may have an idea of what it may be.

The noise does not happen everytime, but it happening more and more than it used to. It usually makes two owl hoot noises when turning and one more as the tire straightens out after the turn. Please forgive my description of the noise, I was really hoping to find a thread with similar description without having to post my owl noise comparison. Any help in identifying the cause would be most appreciated.

With 2,000 miles that is highly unlikely going to be the noise being heard here. Normally wheel bearings are loud and noisey when driving straight, and when turning is actually when they quiet a bit as well.

Try Hood Latch

Try WD40 or heavier grease on the hood latch. Also give the two black rubber bumpers on either side of the hood latch 1 turn to left which will raise the bumpers slightly higher to give more stability to the hood in that area.

I still have not figured out why the latch noise only shows up on left turns but not right turns. Hopefully this is where your noise is coming from.

I had a similar sound and it drove me crazy. My sound only happened when turning left as well. As stated in the post I quoted, it was the rubber bumpers under the hood. The Toyota tech figured it out, thank god because I never would have thought a sound like that could come from under the hood. I also swore it was my left front wheel or something else under that side.

Those bumpers can be raised or lowered with a simple turn, hopefully this solves your problem like it did mine.
