Strange results after lift

I installed my lift yesterday, pretty excited about it. My results are somewhat different than I was expecting though. 2005 V6, 4WD.

Bilstein 5100 front and rear, OME 885 on bottom setting up front, superflex HD coils in rear with extended sway bar links and a 1.5 daystar spacer above driver side coil only to even out lean.

Driver front: 38" to fender from ground, 23 from hub to fender
Driver rear: 41.5 to fender from ground, 25.5 from hub to fender
Pass front: 37.5 to fender from ground, 23 from hub to fender
Pass rear: 41.5 to fender from ground, 25.5 from hub to fender

Anyone think it's really ass high? HD coils were supposed to provide 2.5 inches over stock. Will letting it "settle" help enough to make it almost even front to rear? Pic below:

Two weeks ago, I installed the Toytec Ultimate kit on my T4R, with Superflexes and 1.5" spacer on rear driver coil, in the rear. After about 50 miles, the rear end settled a half inch. You have a 3 to 3.5 inch desparity from front to back. That is a pretty dramatic rake. What do you have the front 5100's set at?

Based on his original post he has them set at 0, stock. I think you need to reset them to at least 1.75. Mine are at max.

Correct, they're set at 0. From what I've read the 885s should give a V6 around 3 inches of lift. I'd prefer not to change the front strut settings. I'd rather add a spacer up front or remove the one in the rear or both.

It sounds about right for the setup that you're running. I am running an almost identical setup save the HD superflex's and my numbers are just about the same. I went with the icon 2" lift springs and the rear is right around 39.5". so with a 2.5" coil 41" would be correct. It may settle some more but the 1.5" spacer will raise both the driver and passenger side so you're rear lift is actually closer to 3 - 3.5".

That's helpful. I guess I might try and pull that spacer and maybe add 1/2 inch spacers up front and see where that gets me. I'd like a little rake but nowhere near as much as I have. I'm gonna have to search for other fender height posts and see what I can find.

Since you have the 5100's you could always try setting them up to the .85 setting instead of adding the spacers. I would just keep an eye on your CV's and you'll definitely want to look into UCA's to get your alignment straightened back out.

I would not suggest going any higher on the front, you're already at 3.5"-4" lift in the front. The issue is your rear setup. Those springs provide 2.5" lift with 400lbs additional weight on the rear. If you're stock weight (appears so), you'll get 3"-3.5" from those coils alone. Then add in the spacer, numbers are very close to what I would expect. You can remove the rear spacer and it'll probably be back close to factory rake. I really think unless you have plans to add weight such as a bumper, you need a different coil for the rear.

I guess I misread the description for the coils when I bought them. I understood they would provide 2.5 inches and be capable of handling 400 pounds as opposed to 2.5 inches with 400 pounds... I will pull the spacer and see where it gets me. Thanks for the input ASR, I was hoping you'd chime in.

Yea, I didn't realize that either until I went back and rear their description after seeing your post. If it comes down to it, you can probably find someone adding a bumper that would like to trade with you. Let us know how it turns out with the spacer removed.

OR, you can call Toytec and ask them if they will swap them out with you for the NON-HD version. I called them, upset about the spongy ride of the 5125's they sent me with my Ultimate kit and they said I can send them back to swap out with 5100's. Give it a try!

I planned on calling them tomorrow. Thanks for the input, hopefully they will be as accomodating for my situation. I purchased the springs from Wheelers and they drop shipped from Toytec so who knows what will happen. I'd prefer the regular ones at this point. These actually ride fine and at some point I'd like a rear bumper but it wouldn't be anytime soon.

I have the same set up and almost same measurements. (38/41 on 285's) My ass is high also..but I didnt order HD super flexes. Now im wondering if they sent me HD's and I didn't notice. Online most people say 885's and regular superflexes level out on v6's..Is there any markings that say HD? Btw I'm in 757 also haha

He got this fixed:

Got my suspension sorted out... Went from:

Rake is now perfect for me. It's just over 39 for both front fenders and just over 40 for both rear. WOOT.

zeronine Yes, the coils have different markings. The HD coils say RCC2.0HD or something like that and the standard coils just say RCC2.0 as I recall.

Hey, hearno, what did you end up doing to get all of that rake out, and lower the rear end?

Ordered and installed the standard superflex springs for the rear. Lesson learned... hopefully someone will pick up the HD springs from the classifieds and it'll only cost me $50 or so. Should have left the HD springs in and removed the rear spacer and added my front spacers. Oh well.

Well, if all else fails, I may take them off of your hands. I have been thinking about biting the bullet and getting a CBI rear bumper, but that's a few months off. Saving some money on HD springs in the near future (to be prepared) may not be such a bad idea.
