strange vibration

so i have a strange vibration/wobbling thing going on
it only happens at 60mph+
the body starts to roll side to side... with wobble in the steering wheel

it will stop if i gas or hit the brake
really only starts if going straight
cruise control on the highway is a sure bet that it will start

so its a sustained speed going straight
if uncorrected the wobble and body roll gets pretty bad

any ideas?

wheels out of balanced? alignment issues (i had an alignment 2 months ago, but it was at NTB)? suspension?

I put new tires on last fall, I have same problem. My tire guy says front end out of line and has cupped new tire. Going in tomorrow for new tire and align. I have had the same problem with the old tires, but tire guy said front end was good. We shall see after tomorrow....

i had wobble in steering wheel at 60mph, went to discount tire and had all 4 tires balanced for 40 bucks no tax, now its fixed! i catch myself doing 75 now, whereas before i couldn't make it to 65 without it shaking my eyes out

My tires were new 6k ago, went back and had balanced checked, found no problem. Rotated tires last week, vibration moved to back. Took it in today, replaced cupped tire and vibration gone. Alignment check tomorrow, suspects bad camber on driver side, machine will tell.

The toe in was out and the alignment fixed it today. Front end steers better now too.

yep and sometimes in your situation you can get away with putting a slightly cupped tire on the rear till it wears back even instead of paying for a new tire, this is why your meant to rotate your tires, so the cupping which happens no matter what, wears even.

obviously if it's to bad you do have to buy a new tire.

Too bad for me, they pro rated the tire also so there was a discount. I also noticed that I need to run less air in the tires as the center of the tread has excessive wear also on the back tires. I have 7500 on the tires.

I was going to say that camber and caster has to really be bad to cause that kind of wear in just 6000 miles, but toe in and toe out it only takes a little to cause bad wear.
