stripped lower shock bolt!

Hey guys, i was just adding some 10mm spacers (to the rear) to level out my lift today and after pulling off the lower shock bolts i noticed that from the tip and back about one cm was sheared. I am going to get some new bolts tomorrow from toyota.. i am hoping there is no internal damage to the stud it gets threaded in to. Has this every happened to any of you guys? Could i be doing something wrong when re installing it that i could have done this? thanks as always

I have not had this issue, but you should probably run a tap through there just to make sure the internal threads are going to grab the new bolt w/o mucking up its threads.
