Strut Rebuild Kit

Does anyone know of such a thing? Our '98 needs new struts and I was curious if there was a rebuild kit available for the stock struts. Being 'cheap' and liking to fix things I am trying to avoid the $600 to replace them. Any info would be appreciated.

no. They are sealed units and must be replaced. $600 seems alot to do that job. I would say $400-$450 parts and labor is more like it

You can buy shocks and do a lift yourself for that price. Since you say you like to do things yourself just get new front shocks, rent a spring compressor from local Autoparts store and DIY. I think Bilsteins are 100ea, and OME are also in the same price range. Max you should only be around 180-300 range for higher quality shock. go to www.arbusa.com , www.sonoransteel.com , and www.toyteclifts.com . Good references for shocks and lifts from stock to extreme.

We sell alot of these Rough Country struts, at $130/pair theyre priced very inexpensive. Never used them personally but seems to be a good product.

No way in hell id pay $600 to replace the front struts!! you could buy a pair of Toytec coilovers and install them yourself

Thanks a lot guys, I will look at these sites and try and determine the best choice. $600 seemed pretty high to me as well, that's why I was seeking alternative methods.
