After two years of spending money on all sorts of other things and denting doors/rocker panels I finally ordered some sliders. Just the email from Richard that they've been given to UPS. Should see them this week. I'm still deciding on whether or not to put a 1" BL on my T4R but at least I'll have the sliders in my hands for when I do make the decision. :biggrin2:

Question for all those that have put sliders on their T4R: Did you do the pinch weld cut outs? How far do you like to have the slider off the pinch weld? I know the slider comes with instructions and most have installed such that there is 3/8" to 5/8" to allow for flex but still wanted to throw that out there.

I've got the same sliders. When I mounted mine I notched the pinch weld in a "half moon" shape above each leg. That allowed me to get them as high as possible. The legs sit 1/2" away from the pinch weld, and with the weight of the truck on the sliders (tested by lifting w/a Hi-Lift) the gap closes to about 1/4". On a hard slam mine would probably still hit the pinch weld, but not enough to do any damage to the body.

You made a good buy. Richard Stubbs is the man, and the product is top notch as well.

I just let my sliders bend the pinch weld as needed I think i placed them about 3/8" from it and now after really smashing them there are nice bent notches from the legs.

I've also got the HD-SKO sliders and am very happy with them. I notched about 3/8" to 1/2" into the pinch weld and have the sliders mounted with roughly a 1/2" gap.

I know there's a Spring Fling this weekend but I have to go host an open house for my rental property this weekend so I can't make it. It's hard to say about the summer rides since I have a few family vacations. Are you talking about the June or July events. I think the June one is in KY and the July one is at Rausch Creek in PA. I'll have to make the decision in a few months. Would you ever be interested in coming up to Ohio for my club's rides? Some of them are in Marietta so it would be somewhat close....

And these next two are from the rear bar on my sliders bending up and smashing the rocker panel and pinch weld out of the way. My sliders only had 3 legs. Each with frame plates and gussets. But it wasnt enough so I added a fourth leg almost at the end of the sliders to help with this. It still gets close if your really really SMASHING it.

Passenger side:

My favorite Im impressed how much tubing can flex and still not bend.

I've got the same sliders...I put a 1" BL on then set the sliders 3/8" down from the pinchweld. No contact so far...must not be tryin hard enough!

Hey thanks buddy! Yeah we have some good little spots down here We may have rocks but at least ohio is green.. I dont really like the desert here, except for the great wheeling

Btw my good friend has those stubbs sliders and they dont seem to flex up at all like mine. Good choice.

Sorry just saw your message. I would be willing to come up there if I am ever around here again, moving to NE PA in a week for an indeterminant amount of time. You should just plan on going to Rausch Creek.

Alright. Sliders have arrived so I'll paint them this weekend. The 1" 4Crawler body lift is in the mail too. All I'm missing is a welder. My neighbor down the street just bought a $2500 Stick / Tig welder, but neither of us are good enough at this point to weld them on. Well, I guess I mean weld them on without a huge amount of weld/grind repeat.

Pretty sweet garage floor organization there right?
