Stubbs sliders question.

So, after getting stuck on a stump and taking some damage to the pinch weld under the rocker panel, I decided sliders are next on the mandatory list. I have decided on the Stubbs hd sko, and have been emailing Richard back and forth with questions about them. My only issue is deciding what angle to go with. Options are 7.5° or 15°. I told him that they would be used for steps also for the wife and kids, and he recommended the 7.5°,but when I mocked up a set, 7.5° just looked to flat, and the 15s seemed to be more what I'm looking for I think. I'm looking for the most protection and the ability for uses as a step.

Looking for pictures of 7.5° and 15° with the door open, looking down, as well as with the door closed. Thanks, Allen

This is the only picture I have right now of my 7.5° sliders. I'll try and get some pictures of them like you asked tomorrow!

I would go with whatever Richard recommends, he knows what he's talking about and is a pleasure to do business with.

I completely agree with you. Richard was extremely helpful and had my best interests in mind. Plus he is quick at sending out high quality work.
 
Thumbs up on Richard. I use mine as steps and they are at 15 degrees. I thought about 7.5 but I like how they are tucked in a bit and there hasn't been any issue with being used as steps. My truck has the black sr5 flares with the downward extension in front of the rear tire and if I'd went with the 7.5 I think the slider would have sat lower and not blended into the flares. It's dark now and I'm off early in the a.m. but I'll put some pictures up to illustrate my babblings asap
 
I followed his advice for same situation, wife, 2 small kids and wanted a stepping surface for them. Went with the 7.5 degree. What a great guy, we talked 4Runner stuff for atleast 30 min. Only comment I will make is that when exiting if they don't step on the slider it will scrape on the back of their pant legs as they are too short to step over it. Gets clothes dirty if they aren't careful...simple fix, step on it...might be an issue for you depending on how tall you are.

Yes please, I would like to see the 15°. I have the same flares. Also Richard has been awesome in returning my emails almost immediately. I'm glad I searched this site till my fingers cramped looking at different companies. All results led back to stubbs.

Here are some picture of my sliders with 15 degree. The diamond plate is removable and I bed lined the sliders. I live in NH and the diamond plate keeps rocks and salty slush off of the body. Sorry it took so long.

Thanks for.your time. That's my plan as well, but welding on the diamond plate and line.x the tops.
 
Placed my order and talked to Richard for about 30 minutes about different concerns, some of which he had when he designed the sliders for his own 4runner. Ended up going with 15°. Should have them in a week of so.

Thanks for sharing the photos, those look great with the diamond plate. And they fit perfect with the SR-5 flares/mud flap

Couldn't help but notice the channel guard you have on the black flares. Are those the OEM ones are did you find something better and cheaper?

I used the oem from a Tacoma. Little pricey but it stops the flare from digging into the pant.
 
Just got an email from Richard stating that my sliders were shipping out tomorrow. That's what I call outstanding service! Ordered on Friday and finished on Monday...on a holiday none the less.
