By impact I assume you mean impact gun? That should take it off no problem unless you're going the wrong way. If the plug is rounding use a six point socket.
Its all been said. Impact with 6 point socket, if it rounds off weld a bar/nut to it.
You could also try a torch, spray with penetrating oil, then hit the plug with a sledge hammer a couple times. Helps break the bond. So an impact will probably take it off after that.
And once you get it off, keep up on maintenance so it doesnt happen again.
Penetrating oil . . . as mentioned above. I have found it to be miraculous if applied and let to set a day or two before. I literally just changed my rear dif fluid two days ago and I dont think I would have gotten those two bolts off if I hadnt applied the penetrating oil the day before.
If you round it off a bit, you can take a dremel or a grinder and straighten out the edges and use a slightly smaller 6-point socket on it. That's how i got mine off. This is good if you don't have access to a welder.
