Stuck Windshield Wipers WTF!

I need to put on my new wipers, but the ones on my '97 limited are stuck on there.

I've tried a lot of different things and I get the wiper to slide 1/4'' but not completely off. I don't want to force or break anything.

Any ideas?

I guess I am talking about the refills. The 17" kind you buy at a store. The arm is fine, I just cant get the old wipers off!

You can try to take the arms off and run them under warm water and soap to try and get them off. and if you break them, you can just go to the parts store and get two new wipers for like 9.99 a piece. i think the rain x weather beaters go for that price.
