Stupid Maintenance question: Coolant

Hi all,

My 4Runner is an '04 V8 4x4 SE. I bought it from the original owner in July this past summer with about 95K on the odometer. The previous owner adhered to Toyota's factory service intervals religiously (complete paper trail, everything stamped in the maintenance book, timing belt/water pump changed at exactly 90,009 miles at the dealer). It's coming up on 100K and I know this is ordinarily time to flush the coolant out; in fact, the maintenance book calls for this. Since the water pump was changed at 90K is it safe to assume the dealer flushed the coolant at the same time? In looking through the service invoice, it does show that $24.95 was spent on "super long life coolant". Did they flush it or just recycle as much as they could and fleece the prior owner for $25 to top it off?

I think that they may have put new coolant in, just based on "it does show that $24.95 was spent on "super long life coolant".....

The system gets pretty much completely drained when the TB and water pump are done. No need to do anything for another 5 years/100k.

there's no way you can replace the water pump without first getting rid of MOST of the antifreeze in the system.

But there's no harm in changing it more often.
