Stupid mistake....need some rotor advice

Just found out today from reading a few threads that my LC wheels won't fit with the 199mm Tundra calipers I purchased a month or so ago. I need some advice on which rotors to go with since it looks like I'll be selling my Tundra 199mm calipers, pads, and rotors I already purchased.

I know there are other options like grinding the calipers, using wheel spacers, etc... but I want the tires to be tucked in as much as possible and really don't want to grind any of this stuff down.

I'm looking at keeping my stock calipers and upgrading my front rotors and pads instead. I'm eyeing a few different brands but wanted the forums opinion on them.

1). Baer Decela rotors
2). EBC sport rotors or ultimax slotted rotors
3). Power slot cryo rotors
or
4). Brembo Sport slotted rotors

To answer your questions, Brembo blanks would be my choice for a rotor. As far as pads I've always had great luck with Porterfield R4S for a street application. I haven't tried them on the truck just yet, but they have made an amazing difference on the my other "fast" cars.

Why blanks over slotted or cross drilled?

I received a PM around 2am about the calipers, rotors, and pads but I'm going to see what I can take back to the store. If I can't return it I will let you guys know.

After looking at wheelers and remembering you're recommendation I think I'll give the porterfields a try. Think the carbon kevlars would be a good choice for a non-racing slow 4runner?

Why blanks over slotted or cross drilled?

More surface area, more material to act as a heatsink, slotted or cross drilled decrease pad life, are more prone to cracking, and cost more. Any supercars with cross ventilated rotors are cast that way, not drilled, so they aren't prone to cracking the same way.

After posting that question to Stick Figure, I did some research and figured what you say to be true. So I'm going with the brembo blanks. My front rotors are warped really bad and have been for a year now. I should have done something about it a long time ago and I've gotten to the point I can't take it any more.

Any advise on the porterfield kevlars? They mention racing in the name which makes me think they aren't designed for something like a 4runner.

I like my brembo blanks. I have about 20,000 miles on them. There is no warping and I found them cheap at Amazon.com and Tirerack.com

Just changed mine about three weeks ago. Ran w/ Brembo blanks and EBC green pads...Check out autopartswarehouse.com....Greats prices
