Subaru wrx to a 2004 sport..finally filling the void

Well...new to me at least. Picked up an 2004 sport v6 auto and I am so excited.
Had alot of trouble letting go of my wrx for the fun factor, but this 4runner is great and so comfortable. I put it up on a lift before buying and not a single scratch or mark on the bottom, never been off road.
When I got in the seat at the dealership I could feel the little female body frame that had been sitting in this seat for the last 70,000 mile. She took great care of it, had all the maintainance records and it drives like a dream.

I'm in northern Cali and have already been out enjoying the terrain. The a-trac works nice. I've ownd a tacoma in the past and this 4runner brings me back to how much fun a full size truck can be.

Any suggestions on mods right off the bat...of course ill search but if anyone has ideas on exhausts that would be great.
Besides the new ride being white, which I dig alot, it came fitted with brand new BF all terrain 265-70-17 installed including a 5th spare on nice rim.

Now I can get to the places I love to run my scale crawlers...here are a few pics of the scalers..Ill post of a pic of the 4runner later today.

Now I know why I've been building this scale crawlers while owning the wrx... to fill the void this new 4runner will fill.:bluejump:

So here is my new 4runner. The V6 feels very strong. Nice to meet everyone.
I will be taking this truck with my family cross country pulling a Uhaul trailer and relocating to Portland Maine area. :hatsoff:

My bad I guess they are rugged trail BFs.
WOW... I did some fast research and I had no idea these rugged trails sucked so bad...

I was out this weekend in deep sand on the beach and up steep trails with full confidence thinking I had 4 nice BF all-terrains on my truck. Ha Ha HA
The whole time I was amazed at the 4runner performance off road and confident in the tires.............now I'm really excited to see what a real set can do for this machine.
If I had previously known how bad these rugged trails were I would have never gone where I went this weekend.....that's funny.

Thats a top one on the list. I modded my wrx quite a bit and so I'm trying to take this one slow and enjoy the process. Today I put so blindspot mirrors in. I need to order some plates and I guess now some new tires.
I want to take off the dam running boards...they suck, but my wife uses them because she is not very tall. I'm only 5'7, which is not tall and I find them useless, why the hell did Toyota put those on, they are a headache.
Is is possible to buy sliders for under 400 that will fit the Xreas system. Thanks guys...happy to be on board.:cheers:

Thats why you do like me and go a little older so you dont have to pay on a car note. You could get an old 90-94 Eclipse/Talon turbo and have just as much fun as your WRX but you wont look as cool.

I just made near 400hp (330whp) on my 93 Talon with less than $7k in the whole car. Destroys STi's and have taken a few Z06's.

Its cool I got the Suby very cheap and you cant beat the reliability, never a single issue for 5 yrat 300+ hp. Very fun car.

I'll be installing a flowmaster 50 SUV series muffler tommorow and cant decide if I should cut out the stock resonator and run the pipe out the side, or keep it in. Anyone have advise?
Of course running it on the side will look cleaner but how will it effect the sound if at all?
Sound is very subjective and I read people claiming the flowmaster (SUV) 50 is nothing loud at all and others complain of it being too loud with drone...is the difference in keeping the stock resonator or not?

Will do its getting put on this thurs. I think I figured out the flowmaster debate on loudness. When people talk about the flowmaster 50 series they are referring to just that, which is different than the flowmaster 50 SUV version. The SUV version that I am installing should be pretty mellow compared to the regular 50 series.

Anyways we will see on thursday as I have decided to remove the resonator and bend the exhaust around the side.

Hey all, so I got that Flowmaster 50 SUV muffler installed today and decided to post up a review about it to try and contribute something to this community.

Also I ordered a nice black Icon shifter, which I will post after I install. It seems to me after a few searches here that there are not too many shift knob options or posts about them in this forum. Icon makes some nice stuff and I can't wait to see the end result.
