Subwoofer Choice

I cant decided on choosing between the Alpine Type R 12' or the Earthquake DBXi-12'. Need some help, looking for SQL, a good mix of both Sound Quality and SPL. If there are any other 12' sub that you recommend, post it. Thanks

i think u need a jl audio 12w6v2, mid level look into the w3, basic stuff look into the w1. now if u need more look into the w7, but the w6 is a blend of w7 and w3.

I had a 10w6 and was happy with it but i want somthing louder and I prolly could get two of the R's or DBXi-12' for the price of 1 12w6. But if you had to choose between the two, which would it be?

well im a jl audio user, i only stick with there subs, also is the sub u have now in a ported box? maybe u need to tune it a lil better to get what u want.

Stay away from JL they are too expensive and there are better deals out there, like the IDQ 12 for example. For JL you're paying for the name (like dynomat for example, second skin is a much better product and it's less expensive because there isn't as much marketing).

Out of those two definitely go with the Alpines. I have two 12" and am happy with them.

Make sure you get a good box too.

I use a Alpine Type E10 with a bridged 300w MTX amp. It has plenty of bass, and I have had it for ten years and still haven't blown it.
