Sudden brake turned the check engine light on

Had to perform an emergency brake and the check engine, VCS Track, Track OFF and that car that looks like it's slipping dashboard lights turned on.

Two days later, it was raining so I put the multi-mode switch into 4HI and drive a short while (lights still on), park the car and 2 hours later when I start up the engine I noticed that the lights weren't on anymore.

Any ideas what might be happening?

Hard to pin point exactly without a trouble code, but I suspect the ABS system detected something odd related to your hard braking. Inspect your brake fluid level, it could be low and might have triggered the low level warnings as it sloshed forward. ABS fault will trip all the warning lights. It likely reset it's self after not detecting it again after a few driving cycles.

Thx for the reply. Fluid is on max. Lights went off again. This is 5th time in 15 days. Light go on and off after a day of driving.

scan the car whenever the lights come on again. preferably with an abs capable reader
