Sudden change of plans

I'm sure I'll get a thorough bashing for this, but, I unexpectedly ran across what I think is a pretty sweet deal on a 2004 V8 Sport 4x4. Low miles below book value. So after owning my 98 limited for only two months, I'm thinking about switching to the 4th gen. (More power, little more room, added creature comforts, and way less miles)

So am I crazy?

My buddy buys a new FZJ80 every 4-6 months so no that isn't that crazy. Its more crazy if you just kept buying 3rd Gen 4Runners over and over, expecting a different result. :nono:

Not at all. If more room and those comforts are things you are looking for, then why not go for it? There are no big glaring issues with the 4th gens (like the 3.0l V6 in the 2nd gens. At least none that I am aware of), so if you like it and it's a clean ride, do it!

Thanks for the votes of confidence. I figured I'd get bashed for considering the switch. I went and drove it tonight, it was awesome. Unfortunately I'm second in line. Hopefully the first guy won't come through.

I love the V8 in the 4runner, it is as reliable as the 3.4 with more power, but it is one thirsty animal at the gas pump.

If you can afford it, do it.
