Suggestion on a leak

Hey guys, I have an annoying leak from the tranny line where it goes into the bottom of the radiator.
I talked to a mechanic friend who says to fix it the right way I should replace the radiator. I really dont want to do that since the radiator is in good shape.

Are there any suggestions you have to stop/plug this leak? Obviously since it is leaking at the radiator anything I use has to be able to take heat.
It is not pouring out but more of an annoyance.

You mean your transmission cooler is leaking? or your loosing antifreeze? If the "radiator" was in good shape it would not be leaking. what year and motor is your rig?

204runner, you are correct. I am dripping a little ATF at the fitting into the cooler.
It is a 88 with a 3.0

Figure out why it's leaking. Loose? Dirt? Corrosion?

You could also disconnect the connections to the radiator and put a dedicated ATF cooler in front of it. Makes more sense than dumping tranny heat into the rad, too.

im guessing yours has a different cooler then my 93. the trans cooler for it is next to transmission. if it is leaking id put a aftermarket one on and put it in front of the radiator. thats best cheapest fix. make sure to put it on right so it dont leak or blow off lines. i had a 99 trans am that blew off the lines and cost me 5 or 6 trans fills and got lil expensive lol

it was dripping from the connection into the lower radiator. A clean up and little JB Weld and the leak is gone away! I will replace radiator when I get around to it but this works for now.

All these automatic's have 2 cooler's, 1 is beside the transmission and the other is in the rad.
